Spring Clean your Driveways, Paths and Patios.
This winter has been particularly mild and wet for most of Lancashire. The damp conditions have had a particularly heavy impact on our Driveways, Paths and Patios, with green Algae and Moss being a problem.
Algae causes your paths, patios and decking to become very slippy and unsafe, as well as being unsightly.
Moss particularly affects tarmac driveways and sheltered paths and patios. Moss is less dangerous to walk on but does effect the surface of your driveway and moss on tarmac driveways can cause serious damage.
The most effective way to treat all of the above would be a combined treat and clean service.
Driveway cleaning is often influenced by the type of surface your cleaning. Hard surfaces can easliy take an aggresive clean using a power washer. In this instance we would clean the surface and then treat after with one of our biocide treatments to prevent the regrowth and illiminate any staining.
Softer surfaces, such as tarmac is approached completely differently. Cleaning Tarmac would start with a moss treatment which would be left for a week to take effect. You will be able to visably see the moss turning from a deep dark green to a more brown colour. As this happens the moss releases it's fibrils / roots that break apart the tarmac. If it's quite raised moss the we will be able to power broom the surface to eleviate the potential for pressure wahing to do. In most cases we will still need to pressure wash the surface. What makes us different as that with years of experience we know the ideal pressure to wash tarmac without seriously damaging it and leaving it looking clean and refreshed.
If the tarmac driveway is suffering from significant surface erosion then we can also re-seal it with a Tarmac Restoration Sealer.
In all, we have solutions for all your dirt, moss and Algae problems. Please do not hesitate to contact us.
